A local council has revoked a late drinking licence after continued trouble on Rnb nights.
Brighton Council took the measure after a local bar, who held regular RnB evenings, met with continual gang-related violence on those nights.
Saqqara Bar in North Street, Brighton, has been told it cannot hold RnB club nights for the next three months.
The situation will be reviewed after this period.
"The premises has been holding regular RnB nights on a Thursday," said a police spokesman.
"The police consider that this is no coincidence and the RnB nights are the principal source of the problems at the premises and the surrounding area.
"RnB nights nationally and locally have been linked with disorder."
Sussex Police said the closure of RnB venues in South London in late September , following numerous shootings, led to the increase in crime as the gangs moved to Brighton to listen this style of music, usually described as a mix of hip-hop and urban soul.
It appears that the scene attracts criminal elements.
RnB nights always feature music by the likes of So Solid Crew, Alesha Dixon and Fundamental 03 and other black acts.
