Ne-Yo, the latest soul star to hit the music business, has revealed he is gay.

The multi-talented R&B act told Essence Magazine the truth about his sexuality.

"Yes, I am gay, and I have always been,"

"You now this world we live in is full of judgement, resulting in one of the reasons why it took me so long to come out of the closet."

Last month, internet rumours were rife about the younster's sexual habits with newpaper allegations from a former lover blowing the cover of the popular singer.

"The music industry can either except me for who I am, or desert me." said Ne-Yo after it was revealed he was told by his record bosses to keep it a secret.
