Rnb star
Akon managed a remarkable feat last week by knocking himself of the top of the US singles chart.
The ex-convict was riding high with his I Wanna Love You featuring Snoop Dog until his Eminem collaboration
Smack That knocked that off the top spot.
"It was like, 'Yo, we gotta take the No. 1 and the No. 2 spots!" the artist said in broken English.
"It's hard work trying to get there, you might not make it, but at least if we get both of them in the Top 10, we made an accomplishment and man it worked out, you know?"
By having the top two songs in the chart the Senagalese-born singer has emulated acts such as The Beatles, Mariah Carey and
Usher.
Akon has plans to work with both Michael Jackson and a revitalised Whitney Houston.
